What Pubs, Bars and Restaurants are back open in Dublin?

After an extended closure, we’re so excited to see some of our favourite spots around Dublin open back up! Good news for students and residents of Point Campus as they can pay a visit to some of the coolest spots in the city. Here is a list of our favourite student-friendly bars in Dublin.

Token – Smithfield

This restaurant/bar/retro arcade in Smithfield is a favourite of Dublin students. You can relive your youth on over 40 arcade games or pinball machines or sit down for an epic meal and pint. While they have been keeping locals rehydrated with takeaway cocktails these past few weeks, we’re so happy to see they have been able to fully open with some sanitising and distancing rules in place.

Wigwam – Middle Abbey Street

Our Brazilian residents know Wigwam too well! Their bottomless brunch features some classic Brazilian dishes such as pão de quiejo and feijoada which will delight any Brazilian students who are missing home. While their infamous club nights are a while away, they’ve added a Tiki Bar to the basement which we think is a pretty great substitute.

The Woolshed – Parnell Street

One of the best spots in the city to watch live sports, The Woolshed, Dublin students’ favourite sports bar is back open! Watching some football with a drink in one hand, and spicy chicken wings in the other is a welcome return to the pubs with this spot on Parnell Street being one of the best spots to do it!

Capitol Bar – Aungier Street

Students and cocktails aren’t the most common couple, mostly due to financial differences (the struggle is real), but Capitol Bar on Aungier Street throws that notion on its head with some amazing deals on their cocktails! Their late-night pizza bar is a welcome addition to this student hot spot, and has been going down a treat since doors reopened. While walk-ins are accepted, they are subject to availability with bookings flying in from thirsty students.

Pygmalion

If you’ve ever walked down South William Street in Dublin’s Creative Quarter, you’ll no doubt have heard the pumping music and crowds of people sipping drinks outside of Pyg. They’re taking bookings for groups and seats are hard to come by so make sure you plan your visit in advance!

Anti Social

Anti Social is one of Dublin’s newest bars, located on Francis Street which is fast-becoming one of the city’s hippest areas. When a bar’s toasties are as well known as their great drinks and events, you know you’re in for a tasty feast! This bar may be further away from Point Campus than the other spots on our list, but we promise you, you won’t be disappointed.

BrewDog Outpost

BrewDog Outpost is situated right in the heart of the docklands and you can practically see it from Point Campu! A local favourite of our residents, they certainly haven’t been resting these past few months as we’ve seen some exciting new dishes being tested on their social media. We’re particularly excited about their new Seitan Wings!

Epic parties at Point Campus is one of our favourite things to do for our residents, and we’re really happy that we aren’t too far away from them now! Our residents and students can still enjoy themselves in Dublin with a few drinks and some great company.
